IID3 Study

The Practice are involved in an important national study to estimate the burden of Infectious Intestinal Disease (IID) in General Practice and the community. The study is a UK wide collaboration with organisations including the UK Health Security Agency, University of Oxford, University of Liverpool, Liverpool Clinical Laboratories, Public Health Scotland and Public Health Wales.

Infectious Intestinal Disease is very common and costs the nation around £9 billion per year. The Food Standards Agency, which is tasked with reducing IID transmitted through the food chain, would like to assess whether or not current control measures have worked to reduce the incidence of IID. Therefore they have funded the IID3 Study.

We will be sending out SMS messages with the information to eligible patients. If you are interested in taking part please contact the Surgery for details.
